“Stark überteuert”

Check‑in via key box; the room was very clean for a single night. The value for money is poor, far too expensive, very noisy from the hallway and adjacent rooms, Wi‑Fi only in the lobby, everything else is anything but cozy, the furnishings are decades old, breakfast costs 19 EUR and can be added (15‑minute walk!). If I spent an entire vacation here, I’d go crazy.

I tried to start with a self‑check‑in that didn’t seem to work, then I called the number on the site. That number didn’t work, so I kept looking for another number at the front desk. I couldn’t even remember which one finally worked. After explaining the situation, the gentleman on the phone told me to wait a bit longer and it would be ready. After about five more minutes, I received the code and could check in. In the room, glasses were wiped with a cloth used for “cleaning” the room, or at least that’s what they looked like. The room was warm, so I opened the window, but a cigarette draft forced me to close it for a moment. There is no city view. As a bonus, you hear everything in the accommodation, so the kids woke me up at 7 am.

Nice place. Cold weather, the room has no air‑conditioning or fridge.

The hotel is nice and clean, but the check‑in was insanely complicated: we had to fill out an online form, sift through a pile of automated messages and emails to find the right info, and then spend half an hour standing outside the locked building looking for the correct key code. The phone number listed here is also dead.
