Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park

The hotel’s location is good, the surroundings pleasant, the pools nice, and the breakfasts are generous and varied, yet the room is small for a suite; we were supposedly not in the family section of the hotel, but a child was running around the room above us.

“Bien pero no a la altura de un 5 estrellas”

The staff were very friendly and the food was good, but compared to other Iberostar 5‑star properties the menu lacked variety. Family rooms were only accessible by stairs, which made it hard with a stroller, and sometimes there were no pool towels available. There was no bar by the pool or the playground, and I missed a à la carte restaurant – only a buffet was offered.

The breakfast buffet was spectacular and the staff were very pleasant and attentive, but the air conditioning was inadequate for a hotel of this level – it only turned on when you were in the room and did nothing to cool it down, so the rooms stayed hot.

The location was convenient, yet the mattresses felt old and the terrace wasn’t private; it was open and anyone could walk in.

The breakfast was fine, but the place isn’t a 5‑star hotel, at best a 4‑star. It needs a full renovation: old rooms, peeling paint on doors and walls, ants in the bathroom, a cold pool, and peeling paint on the walls.
