Zen no Yu

This place has some of the friendliest people I've ever met. We got lost and they went out of their way to help us. It's a shame we didn't get to enjoy the rest of the experience.

The grilled goldfish was incredibly delicious. I was thoroughly impressed by the flavors and presentation.

“Serene inn, wonderful staff, exceptional value”

Our stay at Zen no Yu was a real highlight of our time in Japan. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both excellent, and the whole experience from check-in to the temple grounds and quiet shared spaces created a serene atmosphere. The onsens were clean and inviting, and we especially enjoyed the open-air bathing on the back deck. We even had a reserved time in our own couples bath in the evening, which was fantastic. If I had to complain, it's that we didn't have more time to stay.

“安らぎが感じられる”

We had a quiet and relaxing dinner in our own private room, and we were able to enjoy our meal without any hassle. The fact that we didn't have to wear slippers to move around the facility was also a nice touch.

We had a great experience at this ryokan, with excellent dinner and breakfast both times we stayed. The food was made with local ingredients and was full of creativity and care. The owner's homemade plum wine was also exceptional. The rock bath area was spacious and felt wonderful. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the attention to detail. However, we had some issues with the bus service from the nearby station, which was infrequent and inconvenient.
