The owner’s wife and her son were genuinely kind, friendly, and made me feel at home; I hadn’t planned much in Iquitos, yet the son introduced me to a tour company and took me around on a motorcycle to various places. We stayed two nights, and on the last day they invited us to a festival that involved splashing water or mud, which was a lot of fun. I’m truly grateful. I also appreciated that the shower only had water, but that’s normal in the area and the warm temperatures didn’t bother me.

My sister, who had little travel experience, stayed in the room and used the owner’s mobility service; there were no complaints about the services or anything related. Initially I was skeptical, but my sister’s trust was low at first, and the owners’ work ethic turned out to be solid. According to her, nothing about the place was problematic; it was just the weather. She had to stay home because of rain, and after completing her activities in Iquitos she spent the rest of her time at home, enjoying the fact that she didn’t have to cook or worry about routine chores she’s used to.
