The ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Kyoto, located in front of Nijo Castle, offers a shuttle from Kyoto Station and features an indoor pool. Guestrooms provide air-conditioning, heating, free internet, and a minibar. Five on-site restaurants serve French, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine. The hotel is a 1-minute walk from Nijojo-Mae Metro Station and 400 meters from the International Manga Museum.

From the warm welcome at arrival to the comfy room and the friendly lobby lounge staff, the ANA Crowne Plaza was a winner; I had a wonderful stay, thanks to the helpful reception and concierge, the sustaining breakfast with bespoke omelettes, the delightful lobby lounge with a pianist on Saturday afternoon, and the overall great experience—I’d definitely return.

The underground parking and nearby subway made the location very convenient, and the breakfast was generous with fresh‑pressed orange juice on offer. However, the booking site’s low price meant no ANA points, the room offered no view of Nijo Castle, the fridge didn’t cool, and the toilet flush lever was positioned far away.

The room is comfortable and the location is good, but the reception is very quiet and the facilities like the pool and sauna are not available.
