The privacy and location were great, but the food was pricey.

The room is tiny, and the mattress is of poor quality.

“Perfect budget hotel to explore Kolkata!”

The hotel sits right on College Street, just a tram 5 stop away, a 10‑minute walk to the blue metro, or a hop on any bus line. The staff are laid‑back, helpful, and friendly, even offering to carry luggage up and down the stairs to the second‑floor rooms because there’s no lift. A friendly gentleman at reception sells bottled water whenever you need it. If you need to get in late or out early, the main door locks automatically, but the team will unlock it for you. The room isn’t cramped; the double bed is spacious, clean, and comfy. I never saw any bugs or animals in the room. The bathroom is roomy, the warm water heater works fine as long as you hit the wall switch labeled “geyser” before showering, and the shower area is the whole floor, which takes a moment to get used to but isn’t a big deal. A mini‑fridge works well, and the building feels solidly built, though it’s old. Minor annoyances include the toilet paper holder hanging under the showerhead—if you forget to remove the paper it gets soaked—and the absence of a toilet brush. The sink area offers almost no space for utensils or soap, and the small glass shelf above the sink tilts away from the wall, so items can slide off, especially when soap touches it. Cleanliness around the sink and shelf could be a touch better.
