“Disappointing.”
The room was spotless and the bathroom was nice, but my girlfriend was told she could only use the pool for 45 minutes at 6 am and 45 minutes at 11 pm because men use it all day; when she asked why, they said it was because “men work hard,” implying women don’t get the same treatment.
The Azumaya Hotel in Hai Phong surprised us positively: the rooms are very spacious and well equipped with everything from water to shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel; a washer and dryer are on the 9th floor, and the built‑in Japanese restaurant is a real bonus. Our room had a river view, which was beautiful, but it was a bit noisy from the street, so next time we’d pick a room on the city side. Huge praise for the staff: despite minor English language barriers, the reception was incredibly helpful, and one employee even privately assisted us with WISE money transfers, which was extraordinary service. Thank you, we’ll come back.
The atmosphere was warm.
