“Convenient location just lacking a few easy details to have been super”

The spot was great, quiet, and easy to move around from. It felt more like a hostel, so I’d have liked a few small additions: a hook in the bathroom to hang a towel, extra toilet paper so you’re not stuck in the middle of the night, a light bulb for the living area lamp so you don’t have to toggle all the lights on or off and can set a cozy evening vibe after a day of hiking.

Breakfast was spot‑on. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfy. The staff were friendly and ready to give advice, info, and services. The only gripe was that there was no kitchen or spot to make our sandwiches; it would be great to have a place for that. We had some fresh food and needed a fridge, but you have to ask the staff. Thankfully, they were kind and gentle when helping.

A basecamp that really delivers. As the name suggests, this place is a true basecamp—and as such it far exceeded our expectations. Accommodation and comfort: we were a group of four and had an apartment with six beds, all with proper mattresses, so we had plenty of space and felt completely taken care of. Ideal starting point for activities: we found the Basecamp Frisch’s Hjerkinn perfect for hiking, elk safaris, and muskox safaris. For anyone who wants to combine nature experiences with a practical, comfortable stay, this basecamp is highly recommended.
