Located above Wellington Airport's international terminal, the 4.5-star Rydges Wellington Airport offers stylish, contemporary rooms with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers. Guests enjoy free unlimited WiFi, a fitness centre, on-site restaurant and bar, and 24-hour front desk. The hotel is a 20-minute drive from Wellington CBD and within 10 minutes of Wellington Zoo.

The hotel’s location is unbeatable—no other place puts you closer to the airport, which is a huge plus for late arrivals and early departures. Watching planes take off and land while dining in the restaurant is a treat, and a short stroll to Moa Point lands you right at the end of the runway; if you’re in a south‑facing room you can also see ferries heading to the South Island. The downside is that the soundproofing between rooms and between the room and corridor isn’t great, so you hear other guests arriving and leaving at odd hours.

It was super handy for the airport, clean, comfortable, and an excellent option for an early morning flight. The restaurant menu wasn’t that appealing, but there were plenty of other eating options in the airport.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the location was fantastic for a very early morning flight. The staff were helpful and access was easy.

Everything was so quiet you wouldn’t even realize you were staying at an airport; I slept like a baby. I was allowed to check in early after arriving from my domestic flight. I couldn’t find anything to fault.
