It looked nice and everything was clean, but the self‑check‑in wasn’t up to standard; when I called the lady about parking she was unpleasant and I almost felt like I was bothering her, saying I’d have everything in SMS, yet I only received it while driving and obviously didn’t know about it.

The rooms were clean and bright, perfectly adequate for what I needed. The bed was narrower than expected and the walls let everything around me in, especially from 6 am when the church bells rang right next door, which could be annoying for some.

The location is great, just a few steps from the city center and the castle, and the town of Doksy is lovely. One grimy trash bin was hidden in the lower cupboard of the kitchen, and there was no bathroom in the room; the advertised toiletries were missing, only liquid soap was available at each toilet. The keys were kept in two unlabeled safes on the grille at the entrance, both opening with the same code – I only realized this later and didn’t understand the SMS. I tried the first one, it opened immediately and I took the keys, which were for a different room number than listed, and I didn’t think to try the second. The room met my needs in terms of beds, so I didn’t raise any other issues. Then the person in charge called me, saying I was in the wrong room, which was extremely unpleasant. The issue with the other guests was resolved smoothly, but we both didn’t understand the identical codes at the entrance.
