We really enjoyed the excellent breakfast and onsen, though it felt a little pricey.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the spot was perfect for reaching onsens, temples, and even a monkey‑hiking trail; we had to leave early and they went the extra mile to assist us, ensuring we were satisfied. I don’t have a specific complaint, just a reminder that if you have special dietary needs, mention them to the staff upon arrival so they can prepare; the food was exceptional and they tried to accommodate us at dinner, but it’s best to remind them when you check in.

The heart of Shibu Onsen, the owner’s hospitality was great—he personally transferred our large luggage and us in his car, the breakfast was good, and the restaurant was nice. The room didn’t have a toilet inside.

Dinner and breakfast were incredible, and the onsen was great. I only booked one night, which felt too short; I wish I could stay longer. 😂
