The spot itself is unbeatable – a killer view and easy parking right between the barrels, which was a relief since the barrels give you no room for luggage. Unfortunately the barrels sit out in the open with no shade, so in 30‑plus degree heat they turned into ovens and we barely slept, night‑time temps barely dropped. Breakfast was advertised as a “most popular facility” but never showed up, even if you’re willing to pay extra, and the so‑called kitchen had no sink, water, oven or hotplates.

Our kids will be talking about this trip for years – the scenery and location are just spectacular, and the host family made us feel right at home, especially in the shared lounge where we cooked several meals together. The little play structure kept the youngsters entertained, and after a day of hiking the bathroom and shower were spotless and refreshing.

Great location – quiet, cozy, and the fire pit is perfect for grilling and hanging out. The only downside is the lack of any shelter; when it rains or the sun blazes, there’s nowhere to escape the elements.

We’re head‑over‑heels for this place; every morning feels like stepping into a storybook, the beds are unbelievably comfortable, and the kids love running around the huge grounds and “talking to the cows.” Evenings are spent playing board games in the living room, making it an ideal base for exploring the Jungfrau region. The only real issue is the electrical setup – running the fridge and water heater together trips the circuit, so you have to unplug the fridge while heating water.

The surroundings are simply gorgeous, and the hosts are more than friendly – they made our stay incredibly pleasant and we had a truly wonderful time.
