The Xi'an Dajing Castle Hotel is centrally located in Xi'an's historic heart, near Yongning Gate. The hotel features a spa centre, grand banquet hall, and two restaurants serving gourmet cuisine. Guestrooms blend traditional and contemporary styles, with flat-screen TVs and en suite bathrooms. Amenities include a fitness centre, sauna, games room, and conference rooms, with easy access to top attractions via Yongningmen Subway Station.

The location was excellent, practically just 50‑100 meters from the station exit, with a view of the historic city walls and plenty of restaurants and shops around. The hotel staff were truly top‑class, deserving a five‑star rating. However, the hotel itself is quite worn out; it used to be a top property but now it’s clearly showing its age. The mattress in the bedroom seemed the firmest I’ve slept on, breakfast was mediocre, and most guests were Asians and Indians.

The staff were helpful and professional, breakfast was great and varied, the restaurant service was available, the room was huge, fully equipped, and offered a view of the Muslim quarter. The only downside was the carpet in the room.
