“古民家そのまんま宿（割り切れば満足）”

I stayed in a converted old house with a central living room and table layout, and the lounge was shared. There was no TV in either the common areas or the rooms. I got to chat with other guests, and we bonded over travel stories. The place was close to Hagi and very affordable. The two‑room tatami layout had a fixed futon that split the space, but the upper balcony was noisy and I could hear the neighboring family's whispers, so I felt uneasy. Because the entrances lined up, an empty hallway made the interior visible. The shared fridge raised hygiene and safety concerns. The bathroom was a slightly larger unit bath typical of a Japanese home. A roadside station with a hot spring was a 5‑minute drive away, so I recommend using that instead.

“懐かしいおばあちゃんちですごす夏の思い出”

They allow dogs over 10 kg, and the first floor faces the garden so my pup could roam freely. When I called because the directions were unclear, someone waved from a distance to guide me. The room felt like a family guest room from my parents' house, which was nostalgic. It would have been better if there were a kitchen, and the pet surcharge could be a bit cheaper.

It was a disaster: no air conditioning, no TV, and no nearby restaurants, so I couldn't stay and left drenched in sweat.

I was happy to bring my dog along, the tatami made me feel relaxed, and the proximity to the sea let me watch the sunset—an amazing trip. A small table for drinks in the evening would be nice.
