“Disappointing”
The property is historic and charming, but the hotel seems run by a corporation focused on cutting costs. The products—teas, bathroom items, room snacks—are cheap and not local. The restaurant also didn’t serve local or seasonal veggies or meat. The final bill had a mistaken bar charge and an undisclosed “historic preservation” fee of $20. The hotel is very overpriced for what it offers, marketing itself as a historic and “authentic” local Vermont experience while operating more like a corporate chain.
