The location is fine, but getting into the property was a nightmare. We arrived with no instructions, had to call repeatedly—no answer at first, then they gave us a PIN code. When we tried to check in, staff said they didn’t know my room and would call back, but after 15 minutes nothing came. We called again and were told there was no reservation under my name; after a while they found it and said my room number was 9. We searched frantically, but room 9 didn’t exist. They told us to look behind the house, a separate area with a window and a key; that was our room, no number, and we had to enter through a window with no door. The towels were dirty, the material was poor, and they promised bath gel and shampoo but had none, so we had to buy our own. The beds were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on—they sag under their own weight and the bed frame was filthy. There were no hangers in the closet, so we had to keep clothes in the suitcase to avoid wrinkles. The shower screen was detached at the bottom, and every shower flooded the bathroom. It was a bad experience that left a sour taste; it’s nothing like the photos.
The place is well‑located with ample space, but there’s no hair dryer, no mini welcome kit (shower gel, shampoo), and the host doesn’t speak English, so we didn’t know about the outdoor cooking area. Key delivery wasn’t instant; we had to call, and there’s no doorbell.
“Fonctionnel”
Very functional, but it’s far from the city centre (not walkable). There’s no drying rack, which is inconvenient in summer when we wanted to dry swimsuits and beach towels. The shower fills with water very quickly.
“Zeer relaxed en net verblijf.”
The house is close to the sea, but I wish there was more information in English.
“La habitacion de los horrores”
The only thing that was decent was the spot right by the beach, though you have to drive because it’s far from Lagos centre. The room looked nothing like the pictures – it reeked of damp, the mattresses were soft and lumpy, the slatted base was filthy, and both the sheets and towels smelled musty. The shower screen was broken, letting water spray everywhere, and the shower itself was covered in mould and grime. There was no soap, no towel hooks and basically no comforts at all. Lighting consisted of an outdoor lantern shoved inside and an old table lamp. Everything that was there felt old and dirty. The door was a glass latch with a barely holding key. Access was through a dirty garden corridor surrounded by broken items and a rusted, cobweb‑laden exercise bike. To make matters worse, on the final night there was no electricity or hot water; they ran an extension cord from the garden so we could light the table lamp and charge phones, forcing us to keep a window open for the cable, and it took them over two hours to set it up. No one was available to help and there was no room service, so we had to use our own towels and sheets. We stayed four nights because we couldn’t find another place, but it remains the worst experience I’ve had so far.
