Kuwera Eco Lodge

Friendly staff, the best breakfast of our trip, a large pool, a nice estate, tidy rooms. Taxis rarely or barely reach the hotel to pick you up (remote and dangerous for elephants), so having your own driver is a must if you stay here. The connectivity is poor, Wi‑Fi is mediocre, and the neighbors are noisy both in the evenings and mornings.

“Lovely villas, beautiful decorated in a lush jungle environment.”

Beautiful accommodation with very friendly and helpful staff. The pool was exceptional, nice, and cool, especially compared to the many lukewarm ones we’ve seen across Sri Lanka. We were in the room nearest the driveway and the neighbors, so loud music could be heard, which wasn’t ideal in an otherwise beautifully peaceful setting. I suggest requesting a room closer to the pool.

“Muy buen hotel, volveriamos!”

Everything is very good at the hotel and the staff are all very pleasant. During our stay we were with two families and children, so the pool wasn’t quiet.

Nice and quiet, off the beaten path. It felt like we were in the jungle. We only stayed one night, so there were no problems, but if we’d stayed longer it would have been far from anything else unless you had a car or a tuk‑tuk.

We spent four nights at Kuwera Eco Lodge with our kids, ages 6 and 8, and it turned out to be the highlight of our Sri Lankan trip. The scenery was stunning and utterly tranquil. The lodge itself was spotless, cozy, and stocked with everything needed for a family getaway. The pool quickly became a hit with the children, and the treehouse turned into the ideal spot for pre‑dinner games and drinks – a charming, one‑of‑a‑kind feature. What truly set Kuwera apart was the staff: genuinely wonderful, attentive, friendly, incredibly helpful, and always accommodating. No request felt too much trouble, and they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. As a coeliac, I often worry about safe eating while traveling, but the team at Kuwera handled my dietary needs with care and diligence, making sure I was safe and well catered for. The food itself was outstanding – some of the best we ate on the whole trip. Knowing every dish was thoughtfully prepared allowed us to relax and enjoy our meals. Kuwera Eco Lodge is a truly special place: beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, a lovely pool, a great family vibe, and above all, a team that genuinely cares about guests. We loved every moment and would return in a heartbeat. I wholeheartedly recommend Kuwera Eco Lodge to families seeking a peaceful, beautiful, and genuinely welcoming spot in Sri Lanka.
