“It was comfortable, central and worth it.”
I was right in the heart of the town, just around the corner from Santa Maria de Maggiore, so close that I could almost hear the choir rehearsing on Tuesday and Friday nights—those rehearsals ran late. Breakfastes were left in a basket for each person; if the wrapped packaged Italian breakfast wasn’t your thing, there’s a shared kitchen, and every room has its own bathroom. The place is quaint and old‑fashioned, with a lot of 12th‑century character, and my room had a huge vaulted ceiling off the main lounge that looked like a wardrobe entrance. I had no problems and would definitely stay again in lovely Assisi. Bring your own tea bags—I did!
