Apartment Branka - Monterol

The apartment was a short walk from the sea, but unfortunately it felt neglected, just as broken as a year ago (we were there the second time). Many things were non‑functional, there was insufficient material (no trash bags), the dishes were dirty, and the dishwasher kept clogging.

The proximity to the beach was very good, though I overlooked that it was also a dog beach, which didn’t bother me. My kids liked it. The apartment on the third floor isn’t suitable for two small children, and I can’t remember it being mentioned in the listing—maybe I missed it. The shower head was completely old and dirty, and there were dog hairs everywhere.

The hotel sits on the first line by the sea. The room was large, clean, and had plenty of space for six people. Nearby is a café, and there’s also a beach café where you can have breakfast right on the shore. The shallow water is ideal for small children.

The accommodation was 150 m directly from the beach, where there’s a pier and sand—ideal distance for families. We appreciated the two keys. The kitchen was poorly equipped (no grater, only 4 dishwasher tablets for 7 days and one trash bag). The accommodation space is nice, but neglected (no ashtray, a rusty dryer).

“Ottima posizione per accesso alla spiaggia. Ottimo appartamento per due.”

For ten years we’ve been visiting our friends in Monterol, and this is the best apartment we’ve found in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment. It’s great for two people, featuring a double sofa bed that, when opened, fills the living area. The mattresses feel too firm for my taste; a small topper would solve that. I put a light feather under the sheet on the sofa bed.
