I loved the quiet location and kitchenette, and the sleeping arrangements. Kids complained that the bunk beds were uncomfortable, but that might have been a ploy to share mum's bed!

The room was roomy enough for seven people and had plenty of space to move around. The amenities were thoughtful, with hand soap, shampoo and body wash in pump bottles rather than the tiny sachets you usually see. Water pressure was great, the beds were very comfortable, and there were extra blankets and pillows. The owners were friendly and accommodating, and the meals were fabulous; breakfast was also available. The grounds were well maintained, peaceful, and the swimming pool was super clean, giving plenty of room to sit and watch the dark sky in all its glory. The motel is conveniently located near the Warrumbungles and local observatories, yet still only a few minutes from town. We would definitely book again. No complaints at all.

Great spot and great price for large rooms with plenty of space for the kids; the pool was clean and the slide was great fun. Breakfast pancakes were really nice, but do not order the omelette—it was $15 and only a thin layer of egg, no filling, just a couple of bits of wholemeal bread.

The dark sky was perfect for stargazing, and access to the Warumbungles mountains and observatories was easy. An amazing place. The kitchen facilities were good, plus a BBQ. Very comfortable.

The perfect location for those who want to hike and stargaze in the Warrumbungles but are tent‑snobs and prefer a room, a good mattress and a hot shower in the morning. The rooms and facilities are quite the 60s original, so not much luxury to expect, but it fits the bill. There was a strong smell of cleaning products in the room and obviously the rooms are quite dated, but that was in line with the pictures and our expectations.
