The accommodation quality was non‑existent, yet there were cable TV, parking, a sunny balcony during the day, and plenty of plugs—so it had some value. On arrival, the front desk was full of cigarette smoke and the sign didn’t match the name on the booking platform, leaving me confused. The check‑in felt dark and uncomfortable, but the receptionist was polite. I had booked a supposedly discounted night for a holiday return, spending over a thousand yuan, and the room turned out to be a nightmare: two bottles of water, a pack of toilet paper, disposable towels, and then the real pain began. The room was damp and smelled strongly of mildew. The bedding was colorful but the pillowcase hadn’t been changed and smelled like sweat. I managed to cover it with a disposable bath towel, but the room was old and the bed was hard; the pillows were even worse. The bathroom had poor ventilation, the air conditioner worked but was noisy, and I slept very restlessly all night. The price was not worth it. The sound insulation was poor, and the whole experience was exhausting. Holiday rates in Kenting are double the weekday price, but the on‑site charge was non‑refundable and the room looked like a 60‑year‑old hostel. Reading reviews had made me think it had improved, but the mold and odor gave me a feeling of being deceived and shocked.
