We were warmly welcomed by the host, who provided information whenever we asked, offered breakfast and fresh sheets, and arranged parking access; we’ll keep his address handy. The spiral staircase was a minor issue, but I’m tall enough to handle it.

Being alone was the only positive, but the place felt gloomy, wasn’t suitable for disabled guests (details not given), the bathroom wasn’t private (misleading ad), privacy was hard to find in the shared cottage, and the room and old bed were horrible.

After the surprise of a rather dark room, I got used to it quickly. I had the chance to enjoy the place’s calm. The host is very available. Good value for money. Attractive price. The spiral staircase to reach the room is a bit of a hassle; next time I’ll lighten my luggage.
