“The host and location are this hotels saving graces”

The location is the saving grace of this property. It’s literally a 5 minute walk to the beach. The pool is a decent size and probably used a lot in summer but not during our stay. It’s a nice touch that there is a self catering area within the dining section with a big fridge and microwaves to make your own food, this is rare to find in places in Newquay. Fiona was extremely helpful and friendly, a wonderful host. The noise! The walls and floorboards are so thin we could hear everything! We were in the room at the bottom right in front of the pool, below the dining area. Every morning we would get woken up at around 7:30 from people walking around upstairs presumably setting up from breakfast and this noise continued through breakfast which is between 8:15-9:15. We could hear stomping, laughing and chattering and even the plates clashing together! We didn’t pay for breakfast at the property and as we were on holiday, hoped for a little bit of a sleep in… setting our alarms for 10AM we quickly realised was a pipe dream! Some of the facilities are a little outdated too like the showers and hairdryers. The whole place is lovely, but could do with a little refurb - especially with some insulation in the floorboards!
