I enjoyed swimming in the lake, the restaurant was superb, and the staff were friendly. However, the place could use a few more people; the front‑desk lady ran everything herself.

We were close to the venue we were traveling to, but we got a tiny room with a soft bed near the floor because of the “great price.” The shower didn’t work the first night; after telling the front desk, we found a suite across the hall with a working shower. When we left that day, the desk said someone was in that room tonight, so we had to clean the bathroom ourselves and no solution was offered. At 7:00 pm that evening they called us while we were getting ready to leave after a long day and offered a different room; we moved our stuff, which was fine, though it wasn’t on the lake side and was probably a cheaper, late‑night swap.

The view of the small lake was beautiful, but a large A/C unit in the living room was a surprise that the online photos didn’t show. A $50 resort fee was added to my rate with no prior notice, and it took six hours to get TV reception in the bedroom. The old building needs serious cleaning work—window sills were dirty, carpeting was patched and stained. I understand the new owners are remodeling, but the price feels like a five‑star rate for a two‑star condition.

The views were incredible, especially of Oquaga Lake, but the room seemed unused for a long time and wasn’t ready for the number of guests. There was no toilet paper in the room and the bathroom wasn’t clean enough.

The setting and staff were lovely, yet there was no central heat. The huge external heating unit in our room was poorly installed, leaving large gaps in the window that we had to stuff towels into, creating a tripping hazard when my toddler grandson entered. The hose kept falling out, and the bathroom, though gorgeous, could barely be used because the main room’s heating unit couldn’t heat it. The cost didn’t match the conditions, and they had taken my dinner reservation but then told us an event was happening and offered only a $30 per person buffet instead of table service. A disappointing visit to a beautiful spot.
