The accommodation was dirt cheap and the proprietor was very friendly. It’s close to restaurants and other amenities. The setup is as simple as hostel accommodation gets, just bedding on the floor next to each other, and the door rattled all night for some reason.

The guest house is run by a nice older gentleman who runs a bike rental on the ground floor. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the bathroom/WC had plenty of space. There are many onsens nearby, and you can buy tickets at the accommodation.

“Gli onsen”

The small guest house sits above the owner’s motorcycle shop in the tiny hot‑spring town of Kawayu. The rooms are clean, the bathroom is shared, and the common area is on the ground floor. The manager is friendly and helpful, and free parking is available. We were a group of four and were given two rooms. There are onsens both in hotels and outdoors, and the town is only a few kilometers from Mount Io and Lake Kussharo, which are beautiful spots.

“評判通りの良さ”

The staff suggested tourist spots on the fly and were very courteous. The bathing area was only a few minutes’ walk away, and because it’s a hot‑spring facility, that’s also a plus.
