I stayed at a guest house tucked into a residential area; once past the gate it opens up into a vast, spacious complex. The manicured lawn was striking, and at night I could see fireflies roaming the grounds while in the morning the dappled sunlight made the place sparkle just as in the photos. My cottage was spotless and very functional, and it seemed the owner had been gradually adding thoughtful touches—especially the shower, which was flawless. Owner Kaunda spoke fluent Japanese and was extremely helpful. This was my second visit to Sri Lanka, and I’m already eager to use this place as a base for the next trip. We also had a tour arranged through the property; from the outset the communication was meticulous, and during the trip nothing was lacking, so I could travel without any worries. The Japanese‑speaking guide and driver are limited in number, so if you want one, book early and finalize the tour details as soon as possible.
