“Hardcore Medina vibes”
It has real backpacking vibes, right in the middle of the Medina. The cons come from the pros: it was loud because of neighbors and it was quite difficult to find the place.
“Lovely”
I really enjoyed the hosts’ hospitality even though I can’t speak Arabic or French; I felt so welcomed and happy here at the hostel. The terrace is epic with amazing views overlooking the natural landscape, still right in the Medina with easy navigation through the streets – a prime location! Showers were great, everything was a breeze, loved it! The only thing I would mention is that there wasn’t a power socket by my bed, but that’s a minimal issue and the building was built years ago with plug sockets in the bedroom and on the terrace there’s no need!
“Horrible”
The room didn’t match the description at all: there was no toilet paper, the bathroom wasn’t private, the shower was above the toilet, the photos were AI‑generated and the address was wrong. It turned out to be a scam set up so someone else could take you to the hostel and charge you, because otherwise you couldn’t find it. I suspect the hostel’s name differs from what’s online, which explains why we couldn’t locate it; the online reviews are deplorable. The sink leaked, there was no mirror, and the curtains we saw in the pictures were missing (the room looked nothing like the photos). We left as soon as we arrived. The only “window” we had was a hole in the wall that couldn’t be closed or covered, so outside temperature seeped in. The door didn’t close properly and was initially stuck with a rug; we spent half an hour trying to close it without breaking the already damaged rug. Communication was poor because the staff didn’t speak English, French, or Spanish. I wanted to attach a video but couldn’t, so I’ll just share photos taken from the video. I tried to contact customer service through Booking but received no response.
1) The accommodation couldn't be found under the name given; the name on the door was different, and the name on the check‑in documents was yet another. 2) The room was behind a thin divider from the entrance area, and it had no windows. 3) The floor was dirty, the bed was warped, and there was no cleaning during the stay. 4) No toilet paper on the toilet. 5) Loud conversations outside the room door on both evenings/nights.
Mostafa and Aziza are very, very wonderful and warm people, and I wish them only the best. It was the first time in early March 2026 with them. They are like family to me, and Aziza helped me buy a garment this time without being overcharged. When you want to see Fes as it really is, go to Mostafa and Aziza. We don’t talk about the amenities for the price. There is hot water for showers, a bed, a nice rooftop terrace with a kitchen, and great people.
