I was blown away by the view of Mt Ruapehu from the 2‑bedroom chalet, which was spotlessly clean and came with a spacious kitchen. The only downside was the train tracks right outside the property—though the name Station Lodge hints at that, it still disturbed my sleep as a light sleeper.

The location is unbeatable, just a short walk to the train, hiking trails, and a variety of restaurants.

Die Ausstattung der Küche war in Ordnung. Das Appartement liegt direkt an der Güterbahnstrecke mit 3 - 4 Durchfahrten pro Nacht. Wenn man Lärmenpfindlich ist also sehr unangenehm

I stayed in a brand‑new unit close to the railway line and it was incredibly comfortable, with a great bed and a good shower. Despite being near the main railway line, the train noise didn’t bother us. Restaurants were within easy walking distance and parking was conveniently right outside the door. The only drawback was that some facilities felt a bit basic.
