The vibe is awesome and it’s a chill spot before heading up Fuji.

“Could be a very nice stay if the rooms were cleaned better”

The front desk staff were genuinely kind and the spot right next to the train station was super handy; the room looked good at first glance. I’m reluctant to say this, but the room had a strong odor that we couldn’t shake, even after using the supplied deodorizers. On one wall there was a ventilation shaft with a fan, and next to it a nest with bird droppings, which was also off-putting. All of this made the room feel unclean. Another oddity was that when we looked for other places nearby, this hotel showed up many times under different Vacations STAY numbers with varying ratings—some were low. Knowing that earlier might have given us a clearer idea of what to expect.

The location was great.

A very nice ryokan, but the bathroom was very old and the reception staff weren’t always friendly.

“Typique et central”

A typical Japanese room with futons, plenty of space, close to the station, and staff who spoke enough English to get by. No complaints.
