The staff’s service was very good, and every dish tasted delicious, though the portions felt too large and I struggled to finish them (I managed to eat them all, though). The room’s toilet appeared dirty, and the shower’s water pressure was weak with an inconsistent temperature, which was disappointing.

When we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly, carried our bags to our room, and welcomed us with green tea and a sweet treat while explaining everything we needed to know about our stay—truly outstanding service and accommodation. Breakfast was exceptional, with satisfying Japanese‑style meals that introduced us to many new dishes. The setting was peaceful, and the staff were extremely warm and helpful despite the language barrier; they spoke enough English for us to enjoy the whole experience. It was truly wonderful—Arigatō gozaimasu Watazen! We didn’t find anything we disliked—this was a genuinely wonderful first experience in Japan.

Our stay at the ryokan was exceptional; we really enjoyed it, especially the staff who were very kind and made us feel pampered. The ryokan is in an excellent location, close to Kyoto’s market. The facility offers an onsen (separate for men and women) reserved for guests. We tried both dinner and breakfast while wearing the yukata provided by the ryokan. Dinner was served in a room adjacent to ours, very good and plentiful, and was explained in detail by a very nice staff girl; during dinner, futons were prepared in the room for the night. We appreciated the Japanese‑style breakfast served in a common room overlooking the garden; although it was salty, even with fish dishes, we liked it a lot. Overall, a wonderful experience! The price is still a bit high compared to the experience and services (though comparable to other ryokans in the area).
