Camp Mbark authentic

An incredible experience, thanks to Mbark for the warm welcome! The dinner was delicious! A truly authentic night in the desert! Thanks again, it was exceptional! Nothing was wrong, everything was perfect, I recommend it with my eyes closed!

The biggest asset of this camp is the host and the landscape of the surrounding dunes. Mbarak takes care of you like no one else, collects from Mhamid, sets up a fire, and is open to any request. Important note: this isn’t a luxury Camp; if you’re after authenticity, you won’t be disappointed. There are a lot of flies around, but that’s not the host’s fault, it’s nature.

When I got to the camp it was very quiet and peaceful. The place is beautiful in its simplicity. My room had beautiful colors and a comfortable bed. Lying in the hammock you can spot birds perching on the trees and buildings. You can take a short walk through the dunes. Mbarak and his crew—Bashir, Omar, and Saeed—take great care of their guests. The food was delicious! I had the best chicken tajine I’ve had in Morocco. I also really enjoyed the pancakes for breakfast. I forgot to ask who cooked (merci chef!). I was traveling alone on foot, so the ride to the camp was very helpful, as was the help with transferring to a taxi for my onward journey (thanks, Habib!). The camp is near the charming little town of Mhamid el Ghizlane (accessible by bus). You can spend a few nights at the camp, relax, and gaze at the sky. The bonfire and communal singing are the center of this place and Berber culture.

“Wunderbar”

The key to the “comfort factor” was the camp’s chef—an exceptionally friendly, attentive person who seemed to read all our wishes from the eye. Best regards from his friend Carlos (Le Chef).
