The facilities were good, the staff very friendly, and they gave several recommendations that we hadn’t considered for our trip.

The room was huge and cozy, and the place was quiet with a big garden and a pool. The reception was friendly, but there’s no shared kitchen; the microwave in the room isn’t enough for cooking.

Breakfast was decent, and Louis at the front desk did everything to make the stay pleasant. The hotel sits 2.5 km from the city centre and the market, so you can walk there if you wish. Louis also rents vehicles on site. Every Friday you can catch a good Polynesian dance show at the Intercontinental hotel for 10 000 € per person, including a buffet. A kilometre along the road toward the city centre, right after the KIA dealership, you’ll find a small museum of Polynesian art with beautiful pieces and a knowledgeable owner who knows a lot about Polynesian culture and the Marquesas.

“Lovely place to stay in a convenient location”

The garden, the friendly staff, and the pool were all great. However, rooms in the main building pick up kitchen noise. Next time we stay, we’ll book a different room.

I checked in early in the morning, but the room I had booked and paid for wasn’t available.
