The views and sunsets were beautiful. The internet connection was very bad, the pool was very dirty, and the seafront could use better cleaning—old clothes were lying on the rocks and so on.

“Beware of canceling your booking on arrival”

Nothing to say except that my booking was cancelled on arrival even though I had been booked for six months. They claimed they were fully booked, but they actually raised their prices closer to the date and then cancelled mine at a lower rate. They offered another substandard hotel and told me I would have to pay the same price to find my own accommodation. Instead of the Retaj, I ended up with a dark, dingy room that only had breakfast; there was no pool or restaurant.

“Room in the heart of Moroni”

The room was quite spacious and the hotel is right in front of the beach. It feels a little bit outdated.

“Très déçu pour le prix payer”

The view and the fact that it’s just a stone’s throw from Moroni’s centre were nice, but the room was filthy and clearly neglected, needing a full renovation; the pool was dirty too, so we couldn’t swim, and there were no night‑time activities – the biggest problem was the hygiene, which is a shame because the building itself is attractive.
