The location is spot‑on for getting to the waterways, and the scenery is lovely with a friendly pub just across the street. I couldn’t find anything to complain about.

“Overall disappointing”

The location fit our needs, and the pub across the street was fantastic with an exceptional meal, a good variety, and very friendly staff; however, when we arrived we had to squeeze our car into the last parking bays next to a mobile food trailer, which was not the owners' fault but other drivers' inconsideration. Entry was as described and easy, but after climbing the stairs to our room we were very disappointed by the extremely low ceilings—my husband, who is 6ft3, had to hunche and kept hitting his head, and I lost count of how many times. The bath had a broken panel, the back of the toilet seat was broken (a breeding ground for germs), towels were okay, but the bath mat was frayed around the edges and looked worn. A young lady served us at breakfast, which had a good range; I asked for scrambled eggs, but they were clearly cooked in the same pan as bacon, so everything was brown. 😒 An email the day before arrival offering croissants was a nice touch. On departure, a lady at the front desk didn't even say goodbye, too busy chatting with another guest. Overall, it was average and expensive for what it was. If you’re tall, check the room first because the extremely low ceilings weren’t mentioned anywhere when booking, though not all rooms have this issue.

“so overpriced for somewhere that needs updating,and definitely not worth the price.”

The location was great, but the ceiling heights were ridiculously low in both the bedroom and bathroom, even after warnings; this was the first place I stayed where no cleaning or bed making was done, cups and glasses were left dirty every day, there was a dirty stain on the bed sheet, cleaning was very poor, the bath had a split on the side, and overall it was very dirty.
