Three Explorers Motel sits in Katoomba’s Blue Mountains core, just a five‑minute walk from Echo Point and the iconic Three Sisters platform, and three minutes by car to Scenic World. Rooms feature en‑suite bathrooms, some with corner spa baths, free Wi‑Fi, air‑conditioning, electric blankets, refrigerators, microwaves and large flat‑screen TVs. On‑site parking is available directly outside each room.

We liked the privacy of the room and the covered parking right next door, which made coming and going easy. The downside was the lack of natural light; it felt pretty dim and made getting up in the morning a struggle.

The motel’s location can’t be beat – just a short walk to the Three Sisters, and the room was clean with all the basics covered, so the price felt fair. On the flip side, the building looks pretty dated and could use a fresh coat of paint and some updates.

The hotel is right near the Three Sisters, which made getting around super convenient. The only hitch was the air conditioner – it ran, but never seemed to cool the room properly.
