Omena Hotel Helsinki City Centre

The hotel itself works well and is a solid place to stay :D We’ll be back again! Unfortunately, room 511 was dirty. The child sat on the floor for a moment while looking for something in a backpack and the pants got soiled while sitting; there was a large stain on the floor (maybe from a drink or something). The curtain on the left side (from the window) was stained. Note: the left side of the bed in room 511 (the side facing the outer door) couldn’t be opened; we didn’t manage to get the mechanism open. Just a heads‑up for next time. The problem might be that we didn’t know how to open it, but we think the mechanism was pressed too tightly back in, “stuck” (?) The other bed worked fine and was easy to use.

“Lomailja”

The door code worked flawlessly throughout the hotel. The location is central and great for moving around. One night’s stay was adequate. The surfaces in the apartment had worn over time. Water leaked onto the floor of the hallway somewhere; it was unclear where it came from. The sound insulation was poor, and we could hear the neighbors partying in our apartment. The mattresses in the shared beds had worn tops and were almost broken in places.

Tea and coffee facilities, plenty of bedding and towels. Once I figured out initial entry, using the code was straightforward for access. Short walking distance to town. Lots of restaurants around. If you are early for checkin (which is 4pm) there is nowhere to wait comfortably or store bags, as the code to get inside won’t work until checkin time. It is completely reception-less. Had a bit of confusion as there was a sister location 6min walk from where I was initially. Room overlooking the street can be a little rowdy at night, especially on the weekend
