Expérience unique sur un bateau

The overnight stay was very disappointing. We were looking forward to the promised “unique experience,” but it was not positive at all. Before arrival we sent the host two messages to find out how check‑in would work, and we only got a reply when we were already on the plane to Guadeloupe. The welcome was friendly, and we were told there would be toilets and showers in the marina, which we were excited to use after the flight. On the boat, however, an extremely musty smell and insane heat greeted us. The promised air‑conditioning was missing; only fans were available. In one of the bedrooms a used pair of underwear was hanging on a hook… The promised Wi‑Fi was also absent. When we tried to use the marina showers, we discovered they were closed for several weeks due to construction—something the host should have known. The two “bedrooms” were so hot that sleeping was impossible. We spent the night on the deck with our kids. The boats in the marina were busy, and the loud music from various boats didn’t stop until about 2 am. We were glad we only booked one night. Swimming is completely forbidden in the marina.

The stay was very disappointing. Upon arrival I could not access the accommodation and the owner gave no reply despite multiple attempts (messages and calls). I was left with no solution on site and had to relocate urgently. The owner only called back late, and in a very bad faith manner, after Booking’s intervention, which prevented me from honoring the reservation. The positive: the refund was eventually accepted. I still advise checking the host’s availability and responsiveness before booking.

We spent the night aboard the boat for the first time, enjoyed stunning sunset views over a bustling marina, and found the night surprisingly peaceful, though the sleeping area felt a bit cramped.

The stay was a unique experience and the location was great, but the lack of basic items—no bowl, no stemmed glasses, no coffee maker, no toaster—was disappointing.
