“In need of a deep clean”
The facilities were good in that most things you might need were available, but the place was very dirty. Everything needed a deep clean: stains everywhere, dust everywhere, deeply‑grained black dirt on the bathroom, and an unpleasant shower curtain. This made me feel very unclean. The bed linen was clean, yet the mattress was very uncomfortable—soft and the springs were visible in both rooms. Only two mugs were in the cupboard, so we had to take turns with hot drinks. The carpets were full of hair and seemed unvacuumed; when I exercised on the floor I found bits stuck to my legs. The area is very deprived, the streets smell of rubbish, and walking around at night could feel intimidating for some people. The Wi‑Fi was poor, intermittent at best, so I had to use mobile data instead.
