Eco Hotel Black & White - Anuradhapura

The room and mattress were good, but the pool was very murky and the food was average. Unfortunately, the owner was very pushy.

We booked a stilt house with a stunning view. The place was tidy and the pool was large. The setting in the greenery just outside the city was nice after a day in Anuradhapura.

The pool was very nice and the whole hotel sits a little outside, so everything is quieter, which we liked. The staff were very friendly—when we had ants in the room, they first gave us a solution and then immediately moved us to a new room (no problems, no hesitation). All in all, it was a good stay.

Asela, the hotel manager, is attentive, helpful, professional, and very friendly. He kindly put us in a high chalet with a terrace overlooking the pool. The room and bed were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and very generous. The rice and curry at the restaurant was one of the best we’ve tasted in Sri Lanka. We couldn’t use the pool because the water was really too murky. After our request, Asela asked his staff to clean it so it would be clean for future guests.

The staff were friendly, the kitchen was good and the location was convenient, but the air‑conditioner pointed at the bed made nights a bit uncomfortable until I switched to the ceiling fan.
