“Total disappointment, would definitely not recommend”

We had booked this place last year and were buzzing with excitement, but on arrival the key was missing from the lockbox as promised, the steps to the room were unsafe and non‑compliant, there was no smoke alarm, and the door lock was loose and hard to turn. Cobwebs draped from the ceiling, the room was filthy, rubbish lay on the floor, and the fridge and microwave were splattered with food. I had to wash all the cutlery and crockery myself. Tea and coffee supplies were set up in the bathroom, the complimentary jars were leftovers from other guests so their quality and hygiene were questionable. Towels and sheets were clean, but the duvets, blankets and rugs were filthy—my dog’s bedding was cleaner. The toilet seat was broken and the owner refused to fix it. Both the shower and toilet were moldy. When we confronted the owner, he became rude and aggressive, dismissing our honest feedback. I would give this zero stars if I could, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
