The elegance was nice, but the place isn’t close to the city center—it’s more than 15 minutes away. We couldn’t pay by card; they demanded we pay 650 euros in cash, so we had to change hotels.

I booked a room with a balcony, but there was none; the owners either choose to honor the request or not.

The only plus was the pleasant air‑conditioning and the housekeeping ladies who also offered to do laundry, who were friendly and very helpful. The pool area was unbearably loud because three staff members spent the whole day with boomboxes, and no guests were allowed there in the evenings because of the racket; towels weren’t changed for five days, the mattresses were dirty, and although the bedding was clean you could see stains through it. The hotel was shared with Mexican guest workers, which caused extra trouble on Sundays when they drank heavily. As a woman traveling alone I couldn’t sit quietly by the pool, the bedside lamps were missing so I needed a flashlight, and about half the power outlets didn’t work.

The trip back home was the highlight of my visit. Unfortunately, the staff, though friendly, seemed to enjoy drinking, smoking, and playing pool more than helping guests. When I tried to buy something they had no change, and after a long argument they never resolved it. At arrival I was given a bed that hadn't been changed—hair everywhere—and the bathroom was full of limescale. Eventually new sheets and bath towels were provided, but I had to use my own towel throughout the stay and was accused of dirtying theirs. The female owner, who walked around like a doll, wouldn't even listen to me calmly and insisted I pay in euros. Other guests with small children were also given stained sheets. I will never stay here again and advise others—especially with kids—to avoid it.
