“A unique experience”

Karen and Rob were absolutely fabulous: they couldn’t have done more to make our stay perfect. The house is beautiful and the breakfast cooked by Karen was delicious. She was very helpful with suggestions on what to see, and on our last day she printed out directions and showed us a nice way to get back to Auckland. I’ll definitely recommend the Flying Trout Lodge to all my friends.

The house is very beautiful, the location is good, and the landlord is very tasteful. I’ll choose to check in next time I come to Taupo.

“Fabously warm hosts, best breakfasts and terrific views.”

The hosts were incredibly warm, authentic and generous, feeling more like family visits than a hotel stay. The place was lavish with an intriguing array of antiques, and the terrace hot tub was a highlight. The breakfast was the best we had during our two‑week North Island trip. The only downside was that it felt a couple of degrees cooler than ideal.
