I was switched from Haven House to the Golden Lion, so the rating applies to the pub stay. I got a nice, large room with a small bathroom, everything was clean and cozy, the breakfast was superb, and Paula was very friendly and helpful. Watch out for big suitcases – I struggled to carry my bag up the very narrow stairs because the lift was out of service.

The switch to the Lion Hotel worked out well; it was a very good experience.

The location was right in the marketplace, our room was very spacious with a king‑size bed and a lovely en‑suite bathroom. Breakfast was good and the staff service was excellent. There was nothing at all to find fault with.
They moved me to the Golden Lion instead of Haven House as planned. The staff were lovely, breakfast excellent, the place was clean, and Leyburn was charming. The only downside was Room 4’s mattress, which was very old and soft, making it uncomfortable.
