The town of Cassino was completely rebuilt after WWII, so it feels a bit generic, but the hotel sits right in the center and still manages to stay quiet, plus it offers its own off‑road parking. Breakfast was decent, not extravagant. My room was spacious with a lovely balcony, and the staff were very friendly. Within a five‑minute walk there are plenty of good and very good value eating spots. It’s not a fancy place, but it doesn’t pretend to be and it’s definitely not overpriced.

L'Hotel Piazza Marconi is what I’d call a solid alternative: it’s well positioned in the city center, close to pedestrian zones, parks, restaurants, pubs, bars, etc., and offers very spacious rooms—ours even had a terrace overlooking the piazza. Free Wi‑Fi and a good breakfast were included. The owner is courteous and helpful. The free indoor parking is very convenient. Overall, the value for money is excellent, even though the building could use a complete refurbishment.

Nothing good to say. Why do hotels think it’s acceptable to alter your booking to fit their own needs? I booked a triple room because I was traveling with my brother and a dog, but the hotel gave us a double‑bed room, claiming there were only two of us. They insisted we split the beds and then moved us again after I complained. The first room was dirty, with towels hanging outside the shower to stop leaks, a disabled room, a new room, no sockets by the beds, battery‑powered lamps—one didn’t work—and a bathroom so small I could barely move. No blankets were provided. Wi‑Fi on the fourth floor was non‑functional and the staff did nothing after I reported it.

The location is great and the staff are friendly; this is my second stay here, the first being about seven years ago. For a three‑star hotel, it definitely meets the standard. It would be nice to have some plant‑based milk for breakfast, but otherwise everything was fine.
