The hotel sits in a convenient spot, feels secure, and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet. The bar offers decent food options. However, even though the property is marketed as “secure,” the bar‑restaurant is open to the general public. Wi‑Fi is only reachable near reception and only during reception hours, but it is still available.

This town has little to offer, but the hotel felt like a pleasant oasis with a good room, a nice pool, and a solid bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly, and everything was safe and secure—well fenced. It had everything I needed for a single night.

Not much to say; the online pictures are misleading. The grand old place feels tired and relatively unkempt, the town is sad, the main restaurant is closed but the bar food was very good. In the end, beggars can’t be choosers in this remote part of Australia, and despite my comments there’s no better place to stay. The black sheets were a problem; I was told it’s too hard to keep white sheets clean with red dirt, which was unpleasant. It felt like the room cleaning was a ‘once over’ effort, not done professionally.
