The place is lovely, the host is very welcoming, and the service was first‑class. The food and cleanliness were also very good. I would definitely recommend it and would stay again—10/10.

The location is lovely. Ying reached out to make sure we could enter the premises on her arrival, as she would be away picking up her daughter from school. She was very efficient, remembered our previous breakfast choices, and cooked a delicious Thai meal. The only downside was the limited breakfast options—maybe more fresh croissants and toast, though Ying would have provided toast with marmalade if we had asked.

The room was clean and comfortable. There’s a pleasant wood‑panelled bar with excellent German lager, and the Thai dinner was delicious.

A quiet but charming inn in the little hamlet of Knucklas, with straightforward, well‑laid‑out, comfortable rooms. The Thai food was fantastic and Ying gave a nice welcome. We were glad to spend our last night of Offa’s Dyke walk here, as the small pub/bar and restaurant are quiet and cosy, and the train station is a whistle‑stop less than a 5‑minute walk. A nice stroll takes you to the Victorian rail arch viaduct down the street, built around 1862. The only drawback is that Knucklas is served by only about five daily trains on the Heart of Wales line, but that worked out fine for us: we caught the 5 pm train from Knighton after walking from Kington, and it took one stop to Knucklas. Just be sure to tell the conductor when you board that you want to stop and alight in Knucklas, or flag the train if boarding there. There are a few buses and taxis available as well, or you could walk the extra 3.5 miles from Offa’s route on the trail over another big hill…we did not.
