“Basura India en Bakú”
The hostel was right in front of the station and metro, for example. I had a reservation made a month ahead, but a few days before arrival they tried to push my booking back by three days because of the F1 in Baku. I refused the change. When I got there the place was full of Indians; apparently they had booked everything and tried to remove it from booking, but my earlier reservation was still active, which caused the attempted change. One of the Indians at reception spoke in a curt tone and suggested I take my shoes off. I told them I had a confirmed reservation, and they insisted there was no room, then tried to take the entire accommodation for themselves. They looked at my booking with suspicion and said they'd check for a spot, but it was clear they wanted the place. I ended up negotiating a free cancellation with the owner because it was 9 pm, I was traveling, and I had nowhere to stay. The hostel required you to go barefoot, the kitchen was next to a desk that served as reception, everything smelled of Indian spices, there was no hygiene, people put their feet on sofas and tables, and the atmosphere was stuffy. Signage was poor. They sent me photos and told me to look it up. I think everything is described. If I could give a negative note, I would. Pick another place.
