The staff were amazing and kind, and the balcony was incredible, though we couldn’t enjoy the view because of the weather. There was no hot water in the shower, and a lizard and a cockroach were in the room, which I guess is unavoidable up in the mountains.

Vantage Hills Haputale gives an unforgettable hill‑country escape with breathtaking panoramic views of tea plantations and misty mountains, plus warm and friendly hospitality from Mr. Gamini and the crew. They served fresh, delicious local cuisine. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Haputale.

The view from the room was great and the staff were nice and very accommodating. The room had many insects and smelled musty. There was widespread mold due to very high humidity. The beds were extremely hard. The kitchen is on the opposite side, so the bathroom window can’t be opened (otherwise the whole room smells).

What a great hotel! We had a spacious room with a balcony where we could relax and enjoy the view. The service was attentive and warm—thanks, Gamini! However, sometimes animals walk over the roof, which can be loud at night.

Nice hotel with beautiful views. Breakfast was great. We stayed two nights in the basic room and one night in the more deluxe king room—definitely worth paying extra for the deluxe room. It’s much nicer and newer. They arranged tuk‑tuk drivers for us who were fabulous; the driver took us all over the area and was fantastic. The hotel also dropped us off at the train station on our last day for free, which was a lovely gesture. On the downside, there are so many stairs—very steep and outside in the rain. It needs a bit of TLC, e.g., the shower has a window to look out at the view but the blind was broken so we couldn’t use it. They don’t change rooms each day, no fresh towels.
