The apartment matched the photos and descriptions, was small but ideal for a solo traveler, clean, and perfectly located in the heart of Paris; the check‑in process was straightforward, and I really enjoyed my stay, everything was flawless.
The apartment was impeccably clean, recently renovated, and quiet with a small garden; I received all the necessary access information, loved the central location, and would definitely recommend it.
“Affordable, but I'd rather pay €20–30 more per night for a regular hotel”
The location is great, just a two‑minute walk from the Line 7 subway station, but my experience largely matched the negative reviews left by earlier guests: (1) If you need to enter or leave the property at night, you must ask the host to open the door for you, and the host may already be asleep or otherwise unresponsive, making late‑night access inconvenient and restrictive; (2) The room is in the courtyard and seems to have been converted from a storage space, with no proper door lock—only a swing‑bar security latch—so once closed there is almost no ventilation and a damp, musty smell from the bathroom lingers; (3) Much of the room door is clear glass; although there is a curtain inside, it is badly damaged, so someone could easily open the outer metal gate, which cannot be locked, and look into the room through gaps in the curtain, compromising privacy; (4) The host only accepts payment in cash, by direct bank transfer, or through similar off‑platform methods.
“Good location, but serious issues made for an uncomfortable stay.”
The place sits very close to the station, and as a young solo woman I felt the area was safe, which mattered to me; the apartment is compact but manageable for a single traveler, the interior art is charming, Wi‑Fi is reliable, towels are provided, and even during a summer heatwave it stayed surprisingly cool with a fan available. However, several serious problems arose: accessing the building required the host or another resident to buzz you in, and the host could take hours to reply on WhatsApp and would decline calls, so I often had to wait for another resident, making late‑night arrivals difficult. The original door lock had been removed as “confusing”, leaving a large opening; after I complained the host added a chain around the outside shutter for my padlock, but that still felt insecure for a solo female traveler. Cleanliness was poor: floors turned my feet black within minutes and my fingers did the same after touching surfaces; there was extensive black mould, especially on the bathroom door, and the sheets had a musty odor. The bathroom/shower was extremely cramped; even as a petite woman I struggled to bend down, and toiletries had to sit on the floor, making it hard to wash hair or shave comfortably. No windows meant no natural light unless the door was open. Bed lights and the TV were non‑functional, and I didn’t use the heating, appliances, or kitchen. Communication was lacking: the host didn’t respond and used WhatsApp; I had to request check‑in/out instructions, and she didn’t know my check‑out time. After checkout she sent me the next guest’s check‑in instructions. A builder was scheduled while I was working; despite explaining that I had important video calls, three men arrived late, spoke loudly, moved my belongings, and repeatedly tried to speak to me during calls. I was also asked to pay by bank transfer and cash, which felt risky. The positives—excellent location near the station, feeling safe, good Wi‑Fi, towels, fan, cute artwork, and the apartment staying cool—are outweighed by the access/security issues that should have been disclosed before booking, and I would not stay again.
I really liked it.
