“Lovely stay in friendly guesthouse in Yorkshire Moors.”

This guesthouse sits in the Yorkshire Moors inside a charming village. John, the landlord, was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was tasty but a little greasy, and the coffee was excellent. The room was small but cozy, and the shower was tiny. They responded quickly to emails. We missed seeing the landlady. The pub next door served great food. On Sunday, when it was closed, John arranged another pub in the moors that was also perfect. I’d recommend this place if you want peace and quiet in a lovely setting. The shower was very small.

“We would highly recommend The Barn Guest House.”

The Barn Guest House is fabulous, in a quiet spot. We also visited Helmsley and Whitby, both easily reachable by car. The full English breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome; nothing was too much trouble. We were there two years ago and will definitely return. We had a slight hiccup with the radiator thermostat in our room, which made the room boiling hot one day and freezing cold the next. The weather was unpredictable, which didn’t help. This was an inherited problem and the staff were very apologetic and were sorting it with their plumber. It didn’t spoil our stay.
